I’ll be honest—when a new system update drops, I don’t exactly jump up and cheer. But maybe I should.
Many of us tend to overlook these updates, letting them install in the background without giving them much thought. However, taking a moment to check what they bring can help you get the most out of your console. More often than not, these updates introduce valuable features and quality-of-life improvements that enhance the overall gaming experience.
That’s certainly the case with the Xbox February Update, which has now rolled out for Xbox Series X/S consoles.
Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) Gets a Major Expansion
The latest update is now available to all Xbox users and comes with an exciting upgrade for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. One of the standout additions is an expansion to Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta), allowing members to generate and share links directly from supported web browsers and smart TVs to invite other Game Pass Ultimate users into their gaming sessions.
To send an invite, simply:
- Open the game invite menu from the Guide or while in-game.
- Navigate to the “Anyone” tab.
- Copy the link and share it with friends to invite them into your session.
More Games Now Available for Cloud Streaming
But that’s not all—Game Pass Ultimate members can now stream even more of their personal game library. Over 50 additional titles have been made playable via cloud gaming, making it easier than ever to enjoy your favorite games without needing to download them.
Some recently added titles include:
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
- Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered
And there’s even more on the horizon, with upcoming additions like:
- Cult of the Lamb
- Neva
- Hotline Miami
- Atomic Heart
So, if you own any of these games, you can now jump straight into them via the cloud—no installation required.
Don’t Forget Last Month’s Updates!
While the February update introduces some great new features, Microsoft has also reminded players about some handy additions from January’s system update:
- A network quality indicator for cloud gaming, helping users monitor their connection for optimal performance.
- A firmware update for the Xbox Wireless Controller, ensuring better responsiveness and stability.
The February Update is Available Now
If you haven’t already installed the latest update, it should be available now for all Xbox Series X/S users. Whether you’re taking advantage of expanded cloud gaming features, new invite options, or simply enjoying smoother gameplay with the latest firmware updates, there’s plenty to explore in this month’s release.
So, next time a system update pops up, it might be worth paying a little more attention—you never know what hidden gems are included!
