Last month, Microsoft made OpenAI’s o1 reasoning model available for free to all Copilot users. Now, the company is taking things a step further—offering unlimited access to both this advanced reasoning feature, known as Think Deeper, and Copilot’s voice capabilities. Previously, free users had restrictions on how much they could use these tools, but as of today, those limits are gone, allowing for extended, uninterrupted conversations with Microsoft’s AI assistant.
“We are working hard to scale unlimited access to advanced features to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible, starting today with Voice and Think Deeper,” the Copilot team announced. However, Microsoft did caution that during times of high demand or if security concerns, misuse, or violations of the Copilot Terms are detected, users may experience delays or temporary interruptions.
This expansion of free access comes two years after Microsoft first integrated Copilot into its Bing search engine and just a month after it restructured its Copilot Pro subscription while incorporating AI-powered tools into Microsoft 365.
Despite removing these limitations, Microsoft is still offering its $20 per month Copilot Pro plan. The company reassures Pro users that they will continue to receive priority access to the latest AI models during peak hours, early access to experimental AI features (with more details coming soon), and extended use of Copilot within select Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
